"I started oil painting at age 9 and a little later also took up dry pastel. I was winning district competitions almost immediately and as I got better, placed state-wide. I began commissioned works before I started high school: mostly portraits. While in high school, I assisted the Art Teacher with guiding the class through difficult moments, mostly of breaking out of "traditional" methodologies of representation.
I continued to assist others through into UC Berkeley where I received two degrees simultaneously: one in Fine Art Practice, and one in Architecture. I was well recognized for disintigrating the boundary between Art & Architecture.
Soon after graduating with honors from UC Berkeley, I became an internationally recognized Installation Artist. At the same time, I was working as an Architectural Designer in a small firm that specialized in High-End Custom Residential Architecture, and that itself had won countless awards. This firm prided itself on Artful architectural drawing sets: a rare skill.
If you are looking to try your hand at a new way of expression, are interested in exploring ways to see past convention, or want to learn fundamentals and when to break the rules, please contact me. I am most concerned with what you want to get out of our time together and therefore do not adhere to "lesson plans". Art and Architecture become far too boring for us both when too structured and removed from the student's personality.

Patience is key in any tutoring and I have extraordinary patience. Also, I have the ability to continually reformulate the "question" or re guide the perspective of the student until they understand the objective. Lastly, I encourage a confidence in students by teaching them skills or ways of viewing that they have been looking to achieve.
