"I have a Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of Montana. A field of study which requires coursework in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Physics, Mathematics, ecology environmental science and much more. I studied Geology because it made sense; it answered many of the questions I was asking. I worked as an exploration field geologist for years. Studying the land and searching for minerals, and economic deposits. As a geologist, I love to explore and recreate ancient and lost ecology and environments, looking for clues that can be used to make sense of our world. How did we get here, how have things changed, why are they changing.
In my career I have done many things. I have followed opportunities that lead me on a curious and wonderful journey. I have worked in nuclear power, residential and commercial construction, and aviation. I have worked for giant corporations, small business and started several businesses of my own. I have succeeded and I have failed.
I recently completed a masters of arts in education in secondary education. I always knew I would wind up in teaching, I just had a few things to do first. I an drawn to teaching because working with kids is fun and challenging. They are always learning and asking questions. I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.
Real education and learning is about doing the work. There aren't any shortcuts. It is a journey that is completed one step at a time. We start by building a foundation then develop skills that enable us to build towers of knowledge." less...
