"My name is Vik, and I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with my BS and Masters in Chemical Engineering. I have been teaching and tutoring since I was 13 years old and have developed a wealth of experience on all the material I am comfortable with. I was a tutor through the gifted program through all of middle school where I worked for all subjects. Then I served as a tutor through the National Honor Society in high school for all subjects. In high school, I also worked at the local Kumon center where I served as a teacher for English and Mathematics subjects from basic elementary arithmetic and sentence structure building skills to Calculus II and synthesizing arguments. At CMU, I was a Teaching Assistant in the math department. In that role, I taught Differential Equations five times and served as substitute TA for Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III (3 dimensional calculus), and Differential Equations. My passion for learning and passing on my education and skills is something that makes me uniquely qualified as a tutor. I love what I do, and it gives me great joy and pleasure to see my students learn and excel.
I have been teaching or tutoring math for the last ten years. I started in middle school as a prealgebra and algebra tutor. In high school, I followed up by tutoring all manner of mathematics classes from basic prealgebra to Calculus II. Simultaneously, I was teaching at the local Kumon center for all age students at all levels of math, from elementary arithmetic to higher level calculus and vector analysis. I also completed the math program at Kumon at the #1 position in all of North America. On my SAT, I scored a 740 on the math section, and on the two SAT Math subject tests I got a 730 and 720. In college, I went on to continue my mathematics education as well as my teaching experience. I have taken a multitude of college level math classes in my studies as an engineer and have served as a TA for a year and a half.
