"As someone with parents who speak English as a Second Language, I understand how difficult writing and speaking in English can be. I know that grammar can be very frustrating for anyone, including native speakers. I also know that building confidence is more important than memorizing grammar rules, and having an extremely patient, friendly, motivating, and knowledgeable tutor and coach is very important in helping students and professionals at all levels build that confidence and improve their English skills.
Since all students have different learning styles, my goal before beginning any tutoring assignment is to understand which style works best for each student.
I have taught in the NYC public school system and have tutored many college-level ESL classes. I have a Master of Arts Degree in History, am TESOL/TESL/TEFL certified, and am a native English speaker. In addition, I currently work full-time as an editor for an international non-profit organization, where I edit and proofread official reports and other documents.
Most importantly, I enjoy helping students get organized, get motivated, build confidence, and improve their speaking and writing skills!" less...
