"Hi folks! My name is Lili. I’ve been tutoring since 2022 and hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience from DePaul University in Chicago. I thrived in courses where instruction was clear and straightforward, and when teachers went above and beyond to understand my perspective, address my needs, and support my ability to grasp the material regardless of grades or points. I’ve applied this approach to my current private practice, where I focus on helping students rewrite limiting academic narratives, especially those that make “doing well in school” feel out of reach.

I have one-on-one experience with K-12 students, as well as classroom experience with 3rd-5th graders. However, I find one-on-one tutoring most effective for addressing specific mental or conceptual challenges a student may be facing. Sessions are designed to encourage questions and exploration, with a focus on reinforcing concepts through practice. My prerogative is to guide the student to ask questions in a way that results in long-term retention of a concept, even for new material.

I specialize in English, Algebra, Biology, and History. I also have experience with SAT and PSAT prep, as well as college essay coaching. Above all, my goal is to foster self-learning, discipline, plus creative and critical thinking.
