"I am a highly motivated art teacher who brings insight and excitement to one-on-one teaching. Whether it is to develop drawings, paintings and designs for high-school portfolio auditions, or simply tutoring children or adults to dig in to the creative process, I give each student the benefit of my entire professional career to guarantee them a worthwhile experience.
I engage with many talented students ranging in ages from 5th grade to college-level. I am happy to work with beginners as well as students with a little experience all the way to those who have been making drawings or paintings for years.
My students work on all of the elements and principles of art and design, using charcoal, acrylic paint, pencil, collage, watercolor, clay and assemblage.
I bring 20 of teaching experience with me. Currently I am an instructor at Borough of Manhattan Community College. For years I taught a summer scholarship program at Snug Harbor Cultural Center's Art Lab. I have taught at the Arts Students League, Parsons School of Design and St. Brigid's Catholic School.
I exhibit my paintings regularly in New York City, most recently at Buddy Warren Gallery and Andre Zarre Gallery. Outside of New York City I've most recently exhibited at Joyce Goldstein Gallery in Chatham, NY and The Drawing Rooms in Jersey City, NJ. I also regularly rent my paintings to the movie industry as set design in such shows as Billions, Trainwreck and Madame Secretary.
Students are welcome to my studio in Queens for a quiet and inspiring environment to hone your art skills in order to create a beautiful portfolio." less...
