"Hi! My name is Lauren. I am a college sophomore at SUNY Binghamton student majoring in Electrical Engineering with a passion for math and science. My love of science and math started at a young age because I loved how clear complicated topics appear if you study them the right way. In my experience, the teachers and professors who went the extra mile to make sure all their students understand the material were the classes I most looked forward to attending, completing work and studying for. As a tutor, I enjoy spending time discovering how the student would best understand the material to help transform a subject they dread to a subject they love. Instead of homework appearing like a chore, I want students to understand that homework is there to review a topic and ensure they understand it before a major exam. All throughout school, I loved helping my friends understand what we were studying more than I loved studying it myself, because I enjoy the look on a person's face when they finally understand a topic they have been struggling with. I have tutored friends, family, classmates and younger students in school who heave reached out to me for help because of my past success in the classroom.

While tutoring friends and family, I have always enjoyed trying multiple approaches to teaching a topic and analyzing which method the student responds best to. I understand that every student doesn't understand information in the same way and have patience to ensure that each student fully grasp the material and feel confident with it. I have always enjoying studying and explaining math concepts to others. I scored a 33 on the ACT Math section and a 4 on AP Calculus AB. I scored a 5 on AP Calculus BC, and above 90 on each regents in Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry. I am always excited to teach math, science, and a range of other subjects, so I am easy to reach and will provide fast responses.
