"Greetings! I am an experienced writing coach specializing in the college application essay. I have worked in the Fairfield County, CT and New York City areas for over 15 years, helping hundreds of students create compelling, exciting, and memorable application essays. Furthermore, I have worked with one of the premier college advising companies in the Fairfield/Westchester region for the last 5 years.

I have also helped students write high school and college papers, scholarship essays, supplemental essays, and research/position papers. I have a degree in Philosophy from Tufts University, and a Masters in Cinema Studies from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.

In coaching for the college essay, I generally work in three phases: getting to know the student to figure out what subject or story would best translate into a great Common App essay or supplemental essay, writing the essay(s) with a focus on voice and message, and editing the writing to make it really pop. The ideal essay isn't about a student's greatest achievement, but rather the story that best shows his or her character (yes, sometimes they are one and the same!). The way the essay can best help a student's chances at getting into the school of their choice is to be *memorable* so the admissions officer can associate the name with the story. When that happens, the chance of admission improves immensely.

On top of writing, I have also worked as a software engineer, user experience designer, and curriculum designer for a code education platform. I have a lot of experience across many fields, but the one common goal is helping people deliver their message with a strong and memorable presence.
