"Hello, my name is Ruby and I am passionate about helping people get into the college and workplace of their dreams. I have gained acceptance into top universities and companies as well as having helped other young adults to do the same.

I was accepted into two Public Ivies and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre. I have assisted 18 students for approximately 3 months each with college applications, meeting either in person or virtually. I worked with students 1:1 and primarily focused on college essays and supplemental, but also assisted with other sections of the Common App. I helped them brainstorm content according to the prompts, create outlines, and make edits to best showcase their strengths while adhering to the conventions of standard English. As a result, I was able to help one of my students get into his reach school, Boston University, even though his GPA was below the school’s average.

While working as a Resident Advisor for 3 years, I also tutored 130 students seeking help with job applications. I held 6 open workshops for resume and cover letter help with an average of 20 attendees each. During each workshop, I covered relevant subjects such as action verbs, showcasing achievements, and matching job application materials to the job description. I also worked 1:1 with 15 students to prepare for job interviews. I helped these students practice answering questions in mock interviews and shared feedback on their content as well as self-presentation skills.

My tutoring style is supportive and direct, empowering you to use the strengths and knowledge you already have to produce excellent application materials. I will offer feedback on your writing and speaking skills, while also addressing your mindset and confidence to help you stand out in a competitive application field.
