"First, and foremost, I love the science behind nutrition and all aspects of implementing this complex subject to ever day life for people of all ages and backgrounds. Since I graduated from Colorado State University with a M.S. degree in Human Nutrition and Food Science, I have become a registered dietitian and worked as an instructor at three colleges. Working with adult learners has led me to develop my unique style of teaching.

My model of teaching is based on the idea that the student’s active participation in the learning process is essential. To that end, I engage students in a variety of activities that leads them to an understanding of the nutrition course objectives and development of academic competence. Also, I find that adult learners enjoy and learn best when bridges are built between new information or knowledge and the student’s experience, making learning relevant. They want to know how nutrition is relevant to their own lives, friends and family.

Presently, I am teaching at three colleges in the area of nutrition sciences, and am a tutor at one of the local colleges. I have experience and enjoy students learners.
