"Hello! I am an honor-roll college student with associate's degrees in math, physics, and computer science. I recently graduated from community college, and I am currently attending UC San Diego. I am pursuing a bachelor's in computer science, with a minor in math. To that end, I've taken a plethora of computer science and mathematics courses, all while maintaining a 4.00 GPA. The computer science classes I've taken have covered everything from object-oriented programming to web programming and assembly language, and I've taken every math class from College Algebra to Calculus III. Also, my community college offered Differential Equations and Linear Algebra as a single course, which I completed with honors. I've also completed every calculus-level physics class that my community college offered.
My favorite professors have been patient and easygoing, and I strive to emulate their approach. I see a tutoring session as a dialogue; before getting into a subject, I want to understand your learning style and how you approach problems. I typically break difficult material down into smaller pieces, and I emphasize understanding over memorization. In addition, I love explaining my strategies for taking exams; I'll do everything I can to get you an A on your next test!
I've been tutoring as my sole source of income for a little over two years now. I usually tutor students in their late teens or young adulthood, and the most common subject I tutor is calculus. In 2021, I obtained lifetime certification from the College Reading and Learning Association's International Tutor Training Program. I have three semesters of experience tutoring math as part of the PASS program, and I tutored at my community college's Math Center for two years, which was a casual group setting where students came in and asked questions as needed.
I'll do everything I can to help you succeed! Let me know if you would like to schedule a session, or if you have any other questions." less...
