"I have been teaching at the college level since 1997, learning alongside wonderful students from Massachusetts to Colorado. Currently I teach composition and multimodal communications at Bentley University (Waltham, MA) and public speaking, business communication and literature at Nashua Community College (Nashua, NH). I have also been a writing tutor for twenty-years, offering my services at colleges I've taught at and on an independent level. My tutoring expertise ranges from English composition, business writing and literature to multimodal communication, research methodology and public speaking. I have taught and tutored students from high school and college age to graduate students and adult learners.
In tutoring, as in the classroom, I employ a diverse range of techniques and media to create a positive atmosphere and vigorous learning environment. For each session, I have a clear plan with objectives and desired outcomes, along with purposeful resources to support the lesson, like exemplary articles, videos and engaging visual aids. I am highly experienced with learning platforms like Brightspace, Canvas, Moodle and Blackboard, and have broad experience teaching and tutoring in person, remotely (via Zoom, Team, etc.) and on a hybrid level.
I am a life-long learner and share my love of education with all my students. I hold a B.A. from Hellenic College in Education and an M.A. in English Literature from Salem State University. I also received an M. Div. from Holy Cross School of Theology and a D. Min. from Emory University.
Teaching and tutoring go hand-in-hand in my life and are both very close to my heart. There is nothing like working alongside students as we learn and discover things together, and I get so excited about student "break-through" moments and watching them progress. Within every tutoring session or class, I inevitably learn much more from my students than I pass on to them." less...
