My academic and teaching experience is extensive, with over 25 years of teaching at the high school, college, university, and professional levels. I have a graduate degree in American Cultural Studies with a focus on American Film; my undergraduate degrees are in English and Biology. I started tutoring Spanish, Biology, and English to the student athletes at the University of Wyoming, and then moved to being a high school Spanish teacher. After graduate school, I taught in the English-in-the-high-schools program for the University of Utah as well as teaching Writing courses to firefighters. As a tenured professor at North Seattle College, I tutored and taught English, Film, Humanities, and Technical Writing. After 18 years, I left higher education and moved into a Director of Learning & Development role at a major tech company, where I have my PMP and SHRM-SCP certifications. I'm now continuing to teach part-time at my local community college.
