"Hello, students and parents! I'm Nissi, a student and Computer Science major at Wellesley College. My primary interests lie in tutoring for programming, math, and reading, subjects I am genuinely passionate about. Currently, my main hobby involves constructing 3D games using the UNITY game engine and delving into research on video game analysis. Over the last two years, I've actively contributed as a student researcher to a project focused on exploration in Metroidvania-style games.
I possess significant experience in teaching math to elementary school students. Between 2016 and 2017, I engaged with students aged 7-10, providing summer math tutoring. During high school, I tutored pre-algebra to middle school students aged 11-13 while concurrently serving as a teacher's assistant for high school programming classes. My academic tutoring journey spans five years, from 2016 to 2021, covering various settings such as the classroom, remote one-on-one tutoring, and in-person, one-on-one tutoring. I still find joy in working with children, dedicating time to volunteering at my church's children's ministry on Sundays.
With over five years of programming experience in Python, JavaScript, Java, and C programming languages, I continue to expand my skill set. Furthermore, I have pursued advanced math classes at the college level. Armed with SAT and ACT scores of 1460 and 34, respectively, I am confident in my ability to assist students with test preparation. Past students have described my approach as gentle, firm, and encouraging. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to help students cultivate enthusiasm for challenging subjects and enhance their academic performance!" less...
