"I'm Kashika D., a current college student working towards a degree in computer science and an alumni of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. Because I am still a student, I understand the best ways to explain concepts to other students in a way that is both engaging and personalized to every students learning method. I like to first introduce the topic in an interesting way and go through example problems before letting the student work on some problems by themselves. That way, they understand the concept and are also able to independently complete the problems.
I have been tutoring with non-profits and through my high school since 9th grade, tutoring in math at the high school level and have completed courses up to AP Calculus BC. In 12th grade, I was employed by Mathnasium as a math tutor for mostly elementary and middle school math and working with students one-on-one to complete their designated worksheets and homework.
I want to help the students who I work with improve in school so I highly recommend that if students have homework, lesson plans, or any other types of material from their school that they provide them during the sessions so I can help the students.
