"I believe in the power of education; opportunities and options, while hidden to the uneducated, become visualized and realized by the educated person.
“An investment in education has the greatest return” - Ben Franklin
Beyond the content of the courses I teach, I approach teaching as a student-centered activity, encouraging them to be a part of the learning process. Understanding the different learning styles, I inspire students to approach problem solving through their own experiences, unafraid to ask questions, curious to find answers, and analyze processes when incorrect. My goal is, through thorough preparation, to develop the student into a critical thinker, enabling long term success throughout their college courses and in their community.
Effective teaching is based not only on knowing the content material, but also the ability to communicate it effectively. I thoroughly prepare lessons with various student learning styles in mind, continually building upon experiences to become a more effective teacher. Integrating hands on and online technology, I believe in continuing research of content, as well as pedagogy theory to improve my abilities to facilitate student learning.
