"As a graduate of Columbia University with degrees in Economics and English, I bring a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students excel. Learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and my goal is to make studying feel less like a tedious chore.
My studies in Economics and English have pushed me to blend my quantitative and creative interpretive skills in solving complex problems. I don't believe in having strictly 'STEM' or 'Humanities' students. Rather, my approach to teaching is multidimensional: I encourage students to ask the 'why' and connect the dots across disciplines, piquing their academic curiosity and improving their overall understanding of hard topics.
One of my areas of expertise lies in test preparation, and I am confident in my ability to help students succeed. With a score of 1560 on the SAT and 36 on the ACT, I have a deep understanding of the structure and strategies needed to excel in these standardized tests. My no-frill approach to test prep focuses on learning how to think like the test-maker, building the foundational skills necessary to answer any and every question, as well as secret test-taking strategies. The skills I teach will be tailored to each student's specific needs. My goal is to boost students' confidence in their abilities, reduce test anxiety, and ultimately, help students perform at their best on test day.
Some of my qualifications include, but are not limited to the following:
• 100+ hours of writing and grammar sessions with high school and college students
• National AP Scholar upon receiving a 5 on 10+ AP exams taken in high school
• National Gold Medalist for creative works submitted to Scholastic Arts & Writing Program
• Previous students from college counseling accepted in to T20 schools, including Stanford, Wharton,
Emory, Vanderbilt, and more.
