"Hello! I am a current 3rd year student at Columbia University with extensive experience as a tutor and essay coach. I believe all tutor lessons should not only help with the assignment at hand, but also apply to all future projects that my students have. As a tutor, I have worked with all ages from fourth graders to college seniors focusing mostly on writing and English help. After two years of experience working as a private tutor primarily with middle and high schoolers, I have worked for a year and a half as one of only 8 Columbia Writing Center undergraduate writing tutors. For this job, I also took a semester-long course on writing education and how to work with teenage writers as they balance writing for good grades and also developing long term best practices.
I am also an experienced college essay coach. Having edited essays that got students into colleges like Columbia, Georgetown, Yale, Duke, USC, Amherst College, and many more, I know the steps on how to build exciting ideas that answer the prompts, yet are still unique. When working with students, I always ensure that essays have a strong and enticing command of language, while also highlighting the individuality of his/her voice.
