"My name is Mia and I graduate Penn State University with a BA in Humanities focusing on Journalism the love of words made me want to share my knowledge and love of writing with students. I moved to California where I attend Pierce College taking child development classes. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about child development that I decide to continue my studies to become a teacher. I enjoy educating and helping students reach their academic potential.

My greatest enjoyment in teaching comes when a student finally understands a subject that they have been struggling with, or gets an A on a test that they were nervous about.

I take great pride in working with and educating each of my students- individually and in groups, and watching them grow and succeed. My goal is to give students the right tools to educate themselves and to be able to continue their studies and succeed independently.

I worked at Total Education Solution as a tutor working with 1st-5th grade students in English- all passing their final assessments opting out of tutoring.

Working as an English tutor I take great pride in helping students succeed in understanding the English language. I understand the difficulties of grasping the complexity of grammar and applying it in writing, but with a great teacher I have come to understand and grasp the concept, and the knowledge I have gained I have applied it to my former students in helping them understand and grasp the concept.

I also implemented my knowledge when I started working with a Before-And-After School Program when helping students at Homework Club.

I am passionate about writing and enjoy sharing my passion with students of all ages.
