"Hey there, my name’s Saqib! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am now a Doctoral candidate in a School Psychology program. The best teachers are those who remember and enjoy their own learning experiences. They develop a sense of understanding reflected in their teaching and interactions. I strive to adopt this approach in my tutoring by relating to my students, drawing from my own academic struggles, and aiming to build their confidence.
I have four years of tutoring experience in reading, writing, math, science, and history for children ages 6-17. Currently, I tutor three children, ages 7 and 11, in math, reading, and writing. My lessons are tailored to each student's learning style. On Wyzant, I tutored a 4th grader in math, reading, and writing, assisting with homework and improving reading levels. I also worked with a 4-year-old preparing for kindergarten, teaching the alphabet, numbers, seasons, fruits/vegetables, and emotions.
In math, I help students get ahead by teaching topics before they're covered in class and providing challenging practice problems. I'm familiar with teaching Elementary Math and tutoring grades 3-8 for Common Core exams. Additionally, I teach ELA material for elementary and middle school students preparing for Common Core exams and practice reading passages to improve comprehension. I have experience in various writing styles, including academic, professional, creative, and research-based, and help students improve clarity and organization in their writing.
I love tutoring because I see students grow from self-doubt to confidence, realizing their potential. My goal is to help students improve, encourage them, and create a welcoming environment. If you're looking for an understanding and knowledgeable tutor to help you or your child succeed, please reach out!" less...
