"I am a Computer programmer and software developer of 7 years. I participated in the All Star Code initiative at Goldman Sachs and have been programming extensively ever since. After getting my High School Diploma, I attended in the honor program at St John's University in Queens, New York for a year and now I am currently studying Computer Science at the online, Western Governors University where I have completed multiple courses in Algebra, Calculus and geometry as is required for programming. I have a certificate in IT from Google's Career training program which covers fundamental computer use disciplines. In my own time, I have been completed volunteer and paid freelance work in fixing computers as well as assisting with software use. I am well versed in multiple programming languages like Python, Lua, HTML and JavaScript as well development engines like Godot and Unity. In terms of mathematics, I focus on Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Algebra 2.
In terms of teaching and working with children, I have done volunteer and paid work at Summer Camp in Brooklyn called Camp Medford NYC for multiple years in row. There, I was in with general computer/laptop setup and upkeep, as well as helping the young student learn how to use laptops in their basic functions, like using a mouse, going to different websites and playing educational games. I also assisted with elementary mathematics instruction and study in order to alleviate the "summer slide" phenomena of children losing core knowledge during their break. This was done in groups as well as in curated One-on-one lessons depending on the topic and the students.
I love to see students thrive, not just in their ability to get good grades or regurgitate information, but truly understand what they studying, so that it can not only be applied to their academic future, but their entire lives. I am consistently available and ready to help with any gaps a student might have in their understanding." less...
