"I'm a recent Computer Science graduate from Johns Hopkins University. My coursework includes Gateway and Intermediate Programming, User Interfaces & Mobile Applications, and Full Stack JavaScript. I have returned to these courses as a Course Assistant for the last 2 years, moving from beginner coding classes to mid and upper level courses. Most recently, I was the Head Course Assistant for the Johns Hopkins Computer Science Gateway Python program, overseeing assignments, grading, and office hours for a team of 20 TAs and over 300 students. I recently completed my CompTIA A+ certification and have worked extensively in web development, both inside and outside of the classroom. In short, I have worked across a variety of technologies and disciplines within Computer Science, and am confident in my ability to relay both foundational concepts and advanced strategies to students. As for test preparation (ACT & SAT), I have prepared for and succeeded in these exams since I was in middle school, and recently helped a Class of 2027 student raise their SAT score by 80 points over a two month period. My track record of academic excellence supplements these credentials: I've achieved Dean's List for all semesters to date with a 3.81 GPA, an ACT score of 35, and an SAT score of 1530.
In terms of my style, I have always worked to ensure that students are not simply fed solutions to their problems, but guided through approaches that foster deep understanding of the course material. Rote memorization without applicational knowledge does not carry much value. Therefore, I am committed to granting students the ability to think for themselves while working." less...
