My specialty is math, up to algebra 1 and English. As an adult education teacher, we have to be versatile in several areas because we teach the GED test, which covers reading, writing, social studies, science, and math.
I think one aspect of my skill that I am the most proud of is my teaching. It is one thing to be a master of a subject (like calculus). it is a completely different skill to be able to teach that to something else who knows nothing about it. I think I excel in that area and I have 14 year's worth of experience and over a hundred students who I helped get their GED.
I look forward to helping as many students as I can! I have truly found my career as a teacher; it isn't just my job.
I have 14 years of experience teaching students to pass the GED portion of the math test. This test covers basic algebra and basic geometry. I have taught many booster math classes to help students master a particular type of math. I feel qualified to tutor up to Algebra 1 and Basic Geometry.
I have 14 years of experience teaching reading and writing to adults. I actually enjoy teaching the 8 parts of speech, knowing what parallel structure is, teaching subject/verb agreement, etc. I am kind of a nerd that way. I feel very confident in the English area.
I am one of those types who notices when friends misspell facebook posts or text messages LOL. I don't correct people but I try and make sure all of my communication is free from spelling errors. I try to know too the different homophones, like principal and principle.
I look forward to making contact with students who need help! Feel free to contact me if you are in the area!" less...
