"I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai investigating cancer biology and drug response. I recently received my PhD studying Biomedical Sciences. Before my PhD studies, I received my Master of Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2015 and my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Miami in 2013. I think that educating other people and helping them to conquer complex topics is one of, if not the most, rewarding endeavors to be undertaken. I spent two semesters as an Organic Chemistry teaching assistant during my undergraduate career and one semester teaching two General Chemistry lab courses during my graduate career. One of the most rewarding things about teaching is getting to see your students grow and learn how to solve problems on their own. I love the thought of how far my teaching or tutoring will extend, to see what my students learn and what they go on to teach others.

In addition to having a good understanding of the sciences from my own academic career, I have spent time teaching others. I understand the need to translate a complex topic into something more understandable through models and discussion. You can have the most brilliant idea in the world, but if you can't convey your thoughts, the idea will never reach others. I understand that everyone thinks differently and truly like to engage my students to find out how they learn and what are the best ways to help them succeed.
