"I have a younger brother in 8th grade who I've helped understand academic material in the past, particularly English and Math. I also have multiple siblings I've grown up with and accustomed to in varying age ranges (from 14 to 30s). I am very capable of picking up information quickly and establishing a positive relationship with the student. I received Academic Honors in high school - graduating with a 3.7 - took all Honors English classes and am at the later end of my sophomore year of college. I also major in Communication and have learned plenty of material on the subject and English-related subjects. Therefore, I have great comprehension of middle school, high school, and some college material.
When tutoring, I try to work with the student by establishing common understanding and memorable information regarding the material context (A math formula could be solved if interpreted an easier way, English content could be understood if given a positive goal or communicating openly with me). I make learning material memorable and enjoyable and often find myself quickly growing closer to others.
