"I initially went to school for Computer Engineering and Mathematics at UCSB and have passed all upper division calculus classes required for that degree, but did not continue with all the math theory classes necessary to complete that degree. I transferred to CSUB, where I received a degree in accounting. I have 5 years of experience in the field and am currently studying to take the CPA exam. Because of this, I am very versed and knowledgeable in accounting and should be able to provide tutoring for this subject as well as math.
I am highly mathematically inclined and have always excelled in the subject and regularly implement math in my profession and life in general. I have experience in management, which correlates to teaching, and feel strongly that this, combined my deep understanding of math concepts helps me teach them in a more simplistic way as I understand them.
In addition to these subjects, I have extensive experience in writing and proofreading. I participated in the Academic Decathlon in high school, which gave me intense training with excellent writers and refined my knowledge and abilities in writing. Throughout my college career, I was regularly asked by roommates, and dorm neighbors, many of whom I barely knew, to proofread their college papers, and have learned how to tailor my critiquing to the level of writing of the individual, helping good writers fine tune their works, and helping writers who are still learning, learn what they need to write well and get good grades for their writing.
I am very perceptive to others and believe that I can adjust my teaching styles to accommodate others and tailor my instruction to the student's strengths and understandings. I have always loved teaching others as I love helping others, especially when I am able to help others by sharing the things I know and understand with them. I am a parent of a 3 year old and newborn, patience and guidance are a natural part of my life.
While I wouldn't feel comfortable tutoring college calculus courses," less...
