I am a mathematics educator who has a doctoral degree in Early Childhood Development and Education with a focus on Child Development. My background has helped me to understand students’ knowledge and comprehension of mathematics and how their math anxiety and attitudes towards math affects their math performance. I have 18 years of combined early childhood, public-school, and homeschooling educational experience. This includes 10 years teaching 6th grade math (one of those years I taught 7th grade as well) at an at-risk middle school, one-year teaching 8th grade math and MATH 1 and 2, one-year teaching private pre-school, and one year as an assistant program director of an after-school program. I also have two years of experience within higher education as an adjunct faculty. I am currently a teacher and director for my own online school!

I have taught 4–5-year-old children how to read (phonics) and learn the foundations of math (basic arithmetic and basic skills). My specific area of expertise pertaining to mathematics education pertains to working with middle school math students. I have experience in working with students of varying abilities and have helped them develop their math skills. I have also helped college students in developmental math pertaining to their pre-algebra and Algebra I skills and comprehension. I am certified in Texas and North Carolina.
