"I believe that anyone with a genuine interest in storytelling can effectively express and communicate their ideas, regardless of their drawing skill level. My lessons show you how. I have worked as a published cartoonist, writer, and film producer since 1989. My work has been published by HarperCollins, 9-1-1 Magazine, the Directors Guild of America, the International Television Association, and AmeriCorps in addition to two published collections of original cartoons. I studied at the London Cartoon Centre and have taught or spoken about cartoon storytelling at The University of Tokyo, University of Debrecen (Hungary), Harvard Medical School, and Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in addition to many other venues worldwide. As an Artist-in-Residence at Smith Farm for the Healing Arts in Washington, DC, I introduced cancer patients to the cathartic power of autobiographical storytelling in the graphic novel form and helped them tell their story and express their feelings.
