"My name is Rudy R. and I am a current graduate of Pepperdine with a masters in Education and recently credentialed. I first started my teaching journey tutoring low-income students with disabilities in 2013. This later evolved to teaching prisoners who were incarcerated. After graduating from undergrad in 2015, I decided to make a leap of faith and moved to South Korea to teach English. This was a humbling and rewarding experience for me in my teaching career.

Fast forward to current day, I recently was hired as a teacher for LAUSD. I was fortunate to have secured a teaching position where I did my student-teaching. I enjoy helping students who struggle and need the extra help. With my experience and knowledge gained from Pepperdine, I combined a mode of differentiated instruction as students learn in various ways. I take pride in getting to know the student and their family. This is what helps create a healthy learning experience for everyone.

I have passed the state CSET in mathematics which allowed me to receive my credential. I am will versed in elementary and middle school math. I have also tutored high school math in the past and feel comfortable doing so.

I have my TESOL to teach foreign students. With my experience teaching foreign students English and assisting students in my current classroom who are below the benchmark in English, I have created a system that helps students improve all aspects of their English.
