"I am a credentialed math teacher looking to tutor students during my free time. I graduated from the University of California Irvine with a B.S. in Earth System Sciences and a minor in education. Throughout my time as an undergraduate, my strong math foundation helped me excel in my classes.

I served as an AVID tutor providing math and college readiness support to students at Compton High School after graduating college. In this role, I provided homework help and test preparation support. Then, I transitioned to working at a local water agency and providing education programs like facility tours and mini-lessons. After having these experiences, I decided to formally pursue a career in education.

I attended CSU Dominguez Hills to receive my single-subject math Teaching Credential and my MA in Education Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, I have my bilingual authorization (Spanish and Math). I taught at the middle school and high school levels for 3 years. I had students from 7th grade through 12th grade. I do have a preference for teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. I have 2 years of experience tutoring both one-on-one and small groups.

I provide support with homework help, test preparation, and adaptive tutoring.

For homework help, I focus on providing tutoring centered around assignments given to the student by teachers and ensuring understanding and completion. For test preparation, I like to provide students with a pre-test to identify areas of need and develop a personalized plan to reach desired goals.

One of my strengths is that I provide adaptive tutoring and design a curriculum based on the needs of the student. We can create a plan to best support student needs and model a curriculum to align with what is going on in their classroom. Additionally, I try to model problem-solving using different approaches to allow students agency in their learning.
