"Hello all! My name is Drew and I am a medical student nearing the end of my fourth year of school. My current clinical rotations are quite relaxed give me ample free time, so I am looking to fill those gaps with tutoring jobs. A little bit about my educational and tutoring history:
I attended undergrad at the University of Southern Maine majoring in Human Biology with minors in Biochemistry and Deaf Studies. While in undergrad, I worked for my university as a student tutor focusing primarily on math, but covered biology and pathophysiology on occasion. On the side, I ran my own tutoring business with elementary, middle, and high school students from the surrounding areas and my hometown. I assisted these grade school students in all subjects and also helped shape their organizational skills.
I then started medical school where I volunteered as an anatomy lab TA, an embryology and histology course tutor, and a physiology course tutor.
I have tutored in student’s homes, in school settings, online, and in libraries. I like to cater my tutoring methods to each student’s learning style because I recognize that not all students learn the same way. I have students bring their coursework and we work through it together. I like to use the teach back method because if a student can walk me through a problem, then they truly understand the topic.
I specialize in students who find math or science traumatizing and like to find ways to help them enjoy these subjects and make my tutoring sessions fun!
I would love the opportunity to help you or your child improve your understanding of your schoolwork!" less...
