"Hi, I'm Eric! It's very nice to meet you, and I'm excited to work with you on your math journey. I still look back on these exciting, formative years when I was first learning the fundamentals of algebra and calculus. During high school, I was able to score 5's on both the AP Calculus and Statistics exams, along with being in the 99 percentile (760/800) for the SAT math section. This love for math more...
This love for math continued as I went into undergrad at University of Washington, earning my Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, where I was able to combine my love of math with physics and chemistry. During my degree, I excelled in calculus and received top marks in differential equations, linear algebra, and linear analysis. As I continued to my PhD at University of California, Irvine, I was ranked at the top in my advanced graduate math course, demonstrating my passion for math.
On top of my love for math, I am passionate about helping others learn. At UCI, I was fortunate to partake in the Teaching Assistant Professional Development Program, where we learned how to connect and effectively teach various topics. From here, I was able to assist in teaching an undergraduate Chemical Engineering course in numerical methods, focusing on the use of MatLab. In collaboration with a new professor, I was able to help explore the world of math using computers by teaching review sessions, grading papers, and hosting office hours, while ensuring students comprehended this novel topic. This was a truly exciting journey for me.
Currently, I continue to tutor mainly high schoolers, in all topics of math and hope to expand my circle by tutoring you! I also closely mentor an undergraduate student in practicing responsible research and experimental design. As I grow as a mentor, my teaching style is constantly evolving but I prioritize making sure my mentee is happy and am willing to go over a topic as many times as it's needed. I hope we can continue this exciting journey together. It was so nice meeting you!" less...
