"I am a certified secondary teacher with over 15 years experience teaching and tutoring a wide variety of subjects and ages. I have a degree in English from Southern Methodist University with a specialization in Creative Writing. I also have a minor in education. In addition to my outstanding abilities in English, I have a great deal of training in helping students prepare for a variety of tests like the GED and ACT. And even though my degree is in English, I am an excellent Math teacher. In fact, I made a 100 in Algebra when I was in high school. What makes me a great tutor is my ability to connect with my students, to hear what they have to say, and to determine the best teaching strategy to help them learn the given material. I take a light hearted approach to learning, understanding that when students enjoy what they are studying, they are much more likely to retain the material.
