"Hi, I'm Danielle! I am currently a high school English teacher and this is my seventeenth year. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a double major in Secondary Education and English. Later, I went back to school for my Master's in Literature. In the classroom I have taught multiple levels of English literature, language, and writing for these years. I have helped to create the curriculum for several different classes, including mindfulness, the Investigation of Law, Order, and Justice, and Sports & Literature. I have a developed understanding of standards and the requirements to do well in an English class and beyond. In my evaluations, I am consistently a "highly qualified" achiever, which means that I score about as high as you can on observations that demonstrate my abilities to help my students in my classroom. In addition, I have earned the honor of being "Teacher of the Year" in my building.
As a teacher, I pride myself on getting to know my students to help them do as well as possible with the material. I believe in making content relevant so that students are better able to understand and learn the material. In addition, I have patience and I like to make things fun! I don't just stick with the same kind of teaching methods, but I vary things to make it interesting. I am known throughout my building for being open minded, easy to talk to, patient, kind, and a knack for understanding and helping others. I never have problems with students because I show them respect. I take pride in knowing it is my responsibility to help them understand, and maybe even love, English reading and writing!" less...
