"I am currently enrolled at University of California- Santa Barbara pursuing a PhD in mathematics. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.97 GPA from Dartmouth college with a triple major in math, physics, and economics.
I have been tutoring for seven years in both math and physics. In high school, I tutored the same students for over a year and helped their grades and understanding improve. I still remain in contact with these students and help them work through their college material. In college, I continued tutoring in both math and physics in individual and group settings.
I enjoy tutoring because I have always loved math and physics and hope to help other people see these subjects the way I do. I always try to find the most effective method to explain a concept to a student, regardless of their learning style. I am always happy to answer clarification questions between tutoring sessions.
I have tutored math from middle school levels through upper-level collegiate courses. I have also tutored significantly for math competitions. Personally, I have always loved competing in math competitions. In high school, I competed at MathCounts Nationals, qualified for AIME through AMC three times, competed at various local math competitions, and led our school’s math team. I scored a 36 on the ACT math section, as well as perfect scores on the SAT II Math II subject test, BC Calculus AP test, and PSAT math section.
I tutored AP Physics C in high school, both Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism, as well as introductory mechanics during college. I scored a 36 on the ACT Science Section, as well as perfect scores on the SAT II Physics subject test, Physics C Mechanics AP, and the Physics C Electricity and Magnetism AP.
I am happy to discuss my background and tutoring philosophy and how to relates to what you are looking for. Feel free to reach out for a quick conversation." less...
