"Hi, I'm Jivan!

I’m a graduating senior at Dartmouth College, majoring in Economics, and will be attending medical school in the fall. As a teaching assistant and experienced tutor, I know the value of one-on-one learning support in helping students gain confidence and succeed. My own mentors created an environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and taking charge of my learning—something I aim to bring into my teaching every day.

With over six years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students from 1st to 11th grade in math, English, SAT/ACT prep, and the sciences. I’ve taught Science Olympiad classes, tutored classmates, helped underserved students in rural Mexico, and guided private students to improve SAT scores by over 400 points. At Dartmouth, I serve as a teaching assistant, leading computer science problem-solving sessions. My goal is always to make learning engaging and rewarding.

I have excelled in mathematics through advanced calculus and performed well on standardized tests, including SAT/ACT math and the Math II Subject Test. I emphasize building a strong conceptual foundation before tackling complex problems, ensuring students develop both skill and confidence.
