"Hi! My name is Ruben V. and I am a Data Scientist at a late-stage (B2B) startup in San Francisco, California. Prior to my work at the B2B startup, I worked as a Data Scientist @ CVS Health Corporation for 2.5+ years post my graduation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Outside of work, I play low-key gigs as a Jazz Drummer around the city of San Francisco and enjoy learning languages (recently learned Tagalog). I am also a huge MMA fan (UFC) and enjoy boxing and BJJ when I have time to do so.

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying Bioengineering with a minor in Computer Science, a minor in Applied Statistics, and a Data Science Certificate. I have tutored for 5 years including both online and in-person tutoring. I have taught numerous subjects including SAT Math, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Drums, and Music Theory to students of all ages. I have a passion for teaching and I would love to help your students succeed.

I scored a 790 on the math section of the SAT and a 780 on the math 2 SAT. I got a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam and have taken numerous high level Math & CS classes in University. I still enjoy exploring math for fun post-college and I actively read books on various subjects to keep my technical skills sharp (currently reading Statistical Inference by Casella & Berger, and Enumerative Combinatorics by R.
