"I am an educator with thirty years of teaching experience. I have a BA in Education with certifications in ESL and GT. After graduating from Southwest Texas State University, I began my journey in education as a Kindergarten teacher. Throughout my education experience I have taught Kindergarten through fifth grade. Math and Reading have been the subjects that I am most passionate about. I believe that students need a strong foundation in these subjects to be successful in life. For several years I have tutored students in these subjects to prepare them for our state standardized test. During my journey in education, I also became Director of Education for Sylvan Learning Center. This experience has helped me identify learning gaps and address them with expertise and enthusiasm.
I believe that teaching should be intentional and exciting. Targeting specific skills in a fun and energetic way, helps learners retain more and become enthusiastic about learning. This can be done through multiple interactive platforms coupled with lessons that address the multiple types of learners.
