"Hi! I'm Tiana and I am an Applied Psychology major at New York University. I have been tutoring students for 3+ years now. Working with students and helping them achieve their goals is what is most important to me. I think what makes a student successful in a class is the teacher. I am willing to be that resource for students and be the teacher who helps them not only succeed in the course but also enjoy the course content. I use lesson plans and have many worksheets and resources available to help the student.
As someone who has struggled with Math and had to work hard to reach my current skill set, I understand what it feels like to have difficulties while engaging with the subject material. I have taught myself many strategies that have helped me understand the basics of mathematics which I can teach the student. I can put myself in their shoes and help them while they're struggling because I know what it feels like to do so. I have experience in tutoring mathematics up till 11th grade of high school, specifically Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Elementary Math.
As an Applied Psychology major, I am also confident that I can teach psychology and AP psychology to students. I can help them grasp the concepts and understand everything clearly, easily, and concisely.
Additionally, I have native/bilingual proficiency in Hindi and I believe that I can offer an easy understanding of the language. I can read, write, and speak fluently in Hindi and I have studied it academically for over 8 years and can help any student interested in learning that as well.
I want to benefit the students and in order to do that I am willing to answer questions outside tutoring hours and be a helpful resource. I am also open to all suggestions from parents and students and I am willing to work with them to best develop a lesson plan fit for the needs and requirements of the student. I am easy to reach and respond pretty quickly. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
