"I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics at Clemson University, maintaining a 3.77 GPA and consistently making the Dean's List or President's List recognition each semester. My educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and critical problem-solving making me an effective tutor in these subjects. I also graduated high school with a perfect A average, completing eleven Advanced Placements courses and passing all their exams.
I have a range of teaching and mentoring experience with students of many age groups. As an instructor and academic mentor at T-Motion Dance & Afterschool, I have worked with students ages 5-13, assisting them with homework and test preparation across all subjects, including math, science, social studies, and language arts. I have organized study sessions and quizzed students to prepare for exams contributing to many students achieving A and B Honor Roll or all A Honor Roll. Additionally, I have formal experience tutoring high school students one-on-one in math and science and have informally tutored my college peers in subjects such as physics, calculus, algebra, and chemistry.
When it comes to tutoring, I focus on keeping the material as simple and relatable as possible. I have noticed that many teachers and professors explain material from a highly experienced perspective which can create a disconnect for students. My approach is to explain concepts from a student's perspective, breaking things down into clear and manageable steps. I like to connect ideas to real-world scenarios whenever possible to make them easier to understand. While memorization has its place, I prioritize the core concepts and equip the student with the skills needed to make them feel confident and apply their knowledge in the future." less...
