"Hello, I am Shirley and I am dedicated to help you! I have over seven years of experience teaching and tutoring English, ESL, Math, and other subjects, to students at various skill levels. I have a bachelor's in English Literature from the University of Cincinnati. My studies also include coursework towards my Master's in Design at the University of Cincinnati. My background also includes Technical Writing, Business Writing and Customer Service. Volunteerism includes Literacy Volunteers, Habitat for Humanity, CityLink Workforce Resume Help and Mock Interviews, Various Committees and former Scout Leader.

My philosophy is that learning occurs every day! There are many ways to learn a new skill or topic. I will help you develop strategies, based on your learning goals, challenges, interests, and learning style. I often use examples of how your school studies relate to "the real world"--learning can be fun, too! Library and online study aids are very beneficial, so I often work with my students at the Main Branch, or community libraries.
