"Hello there! I've been a tutor & private teacher for over six years. In college, I maintained a balance while passionately immersing myself in literature, history, politics, marketing, and urban sociology. Upon graduating from Syracuse University, I faced severe health challenges, leading me to abandon my intended career in anthropology.
During my recovery, I was determined not to let my knowledge & experience diminish. So after thorough research, I chose to leverage Wyzant to embark on what was initially a temporary gig, aiming to practice and sustain my skills. As time passed and I took on more students, I discovered a genuine love for the work and the impact I was making on those I was assisting. The opportunity to teach a diverse range of students subjects, ideas, and concepts I am deeply passionate about has become a true blessing.
Here's a bit about my background: I hold a minor in Anthropology with a focus on race & religion. I placed a strong focus on Islamic Studies, amassing resources that expanded my understanding of Islam holistically. This knowledge fueled my studies during a six-month period abroad in Turkey. I delved into the intricate relationship between environment, human traditions, and evolution, exploring the study of the biology of race and cultural development. Armed with extensive knowledge and resources from my college experience, I can support students ranging from elementary to high school in the social sciences, biology, and geography.
My major at Syracuse University was Rhetorical Studies. In detail, I studied the fundamentals of communication, exploring how philosophy, psychology, and marketing have shaped the way language influences societal change. From crafting political speeches to consulting hospitals on improving doctor-patient relationships, my major granted me the flexibility to understand communication at many levels." less...
