"Howdy! I am a recent grad with an enormous passion for math and all of its applications. I received a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Mississippi in 2018 and will receive an M.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan in December 2020.
I love a good challenge and helping others overcome their own challenges. At the same time, I know that not everyone enjoys the frustration that can come with learning and applying math, and I definitely take that into account when I'm working with someone. If you want to get better at solving problems in general, I can help with that, and if you're just wondering how on Earth you're going to remember a bunch of equations, I can help with that, too!
Throughout my time at Ole Miss, I often tutored other college and high school students. Most commonly, I was helping improve math and problem-solving skills in preparation for standardized tests, like the GRE, ASVAB, and MCAT.
While at the University of Michigan, I was head graduate student instructor for an introductory microeconomics course. Some of the requirements for this role were teaching multiple weekly discussion sections with 20-30 students in each section, working one-on-one with students in office hours, and preparing and grading exams. A lot of my time spent with my students was dedicated to helping them develop problem-solving skills within the context of economic concepts. Since I taught students with varied backgrounds, I gained a lot of experience in tailoring my teaching methods based on people's background and comfort with math.
Please feel free to reach out if you are searching for some help. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you beef up your math skills!" less...
