"Hello, my name is Jessica! I would love to help you edit college and dental application essays and other prep materials! I can also tutor in the DAT as well.

I graduated from the University of the Pacific in 3 years with a 4.0 GPA and summa cum laude in my major of Biology and minor of Business Management. I currently attend Columbia University College of Dentistry. My DAT score was in the 99th percentile (26 AA, 25 TS, 26 Biology). I was accepted into Columbia, UOP, and UPenn, and know many students at these schools. I would love to provide my insight and mentorships about the application process and what current students experience at these dental schools. Not only have I helped many of my peers edit their dental and college essays, but I can also provide one-on-one interview advice and practice.

I tutored Biology and writing for 2 years in college. I quickly realized that many of my tutees did not struggle with the difficulty of the material, but rather, the method in which that information was being distributed. By teaching using diagrams, photos, videos, and asking my tutees questions, I was able to convey the same information that was taught in class in a creative and engaging manner that promoted critical thinking and analytical skills. Working with many tutees has taught me the importance of curating tutoring materials that are uniquely suited to each student's best learning methods, and I always feel a sense of pride when my students' efforts pay off and genuinely start to enjoy their classes. I would love to work with any students who need help in Biology and figure out the most effective and fun studying methods that can lead to long-term retention and understanding of the material!
