My background covers over thirty years and includes hands-on work done before the rise of the computer. You will receive expert tutoring from a respected industry leader in publishing, print production and graphic design. A solid, hands-on approach clears away misconceptions, mis-practices, and many missteps in the desktop publishing practices. Experience includes work done for consumer products, ad agencies, and corporate marketing communications departments. I have won several American Graphic Design Awards, as well as ad club merit awards.
Most recently, I won an AGA for a book cover. I have also created several web sites from scratch and won an AGA for one done for a local retailer. Many class projects are customized to the student and their goals. Certain classes are focused on design and its importance in the thought process. You will learn real world shortcuts and valuable insider approaches to solving complex problems. Focus will be placed on your needs and timeframe. For instance, say you are confused about which RGB colorspace works best for print. I will show you the differences between all of the RGB colorspaces and which one will work best for you.
