"Hello! My name is Lauren and I am thrilled to support students through writing processes and humanities curriculums. In 2021, I received my BA in History and Art History, and a Museum Studies minor, from Beloit College, with Summa Cum Laude honors. After completing my undergraduate education, I attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) to pursue two Master’s degrees, one in Art History and one in Arts Administration.
Through Beloit College and SAIC, I have had the privilege to work in two collegiate level writing centers, totaling 6 years of tutoring experience. Within these spaces, I handled a wide range of texts: short form responses, essays, final papers/projects, resumes, cover letters, graduate school applications, full blown Master’s theses, and much more. My particular areas of expertise lie in grammar checks, content clarity, flow and style, consistency of written voice, and proofreading. Beyond individualized tutoring, I have a further 2.5 years of experience in providing classroom support as a Teaching Assistant/Instructor of Record in art history courses. A background in collective and solo support allows me to combine an appreciation for broader humanities curriculums and independent goals. I tutor at the upper middle school, high school, college, and graduate levels.
In general, my approach to tutoring emphasizes adaptability, personalization, kindness and thoroughness. Working with me, I hope to offer a space to grow and reflect, allowing students to begin identifying their own strengths and patterns, as well as cultivating their confidence. I take particular care in being able to see collaborators through to tangible results. Whether you are looking to expand your methodologies for studying art history and history, improve your understanding of the writing process, or anything in between, I hope to offer the support you need!
Kind Regards,
Lauren" less...
