"My name is Devin, and I've been a writing tutor at SUNY Plattsburgh for three years. I've worked with first-year students in ENG 101, with seniors working on their 30-page final projects, and with ESL students who need a hand with English syntax. I can help in all parts of writing, from brainstorming and organization to grammar and editing.
At SUNY Plattsburgh, I have only worked with college students, but I am more than willing to help high school students who are nervous about their college entrance exams. I also have experience with creative writing and have taken several creative writing workshop classes during my college career. I am CRLA Certified as a writing tutor, and I have BAs in Writing and Literature.
In our sessions, we will focus on whatever you want. If you aren't sure, I'll gladly make some suggestions, but my job is to help you become a better writer in whatever way you need. We can revise essays you've written, talk about assignments, or go over grammar and sentence structure. Anything that can possibly relate to English is worth discussing, and it's your time, so we'll work on what you want to work on.
I know that writing isn't enjoyable for everyone, so I try to make each session fun by making jokes, being lighthearted, and simply not taking things too seriously.
