"Hi! My name is Sam, and I am a current third year medical student in the Chicagoland area. I hold both a bachelor's and master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and have extensive experience as both a professional tutor and TA in various subjects including the MCAT, general chemistry, physiology, and the USMLE.
I have a genuine passion for medicine and biomedical science, and my interests lie particularly in the fields of physiology, pharmacology, and anesthesiology. I've taught general chemistry as a TA for the University of Wisconsin, leading discussion sessions and labs for class sizes of up to 30 students. I've also worked as an MCAT tutor for a professional tutoring company providing 1-1 tutoring to students preparing for their medical school journey. I've worked as a tutor in physiology and for the USMLE/COMLEX at my own medical school, leading large group workshops and 1-1 sessions. Through my experiences, I've learned that every student learns differently and have grown to tailor my approach to tutoring to meet each individual student's needs. I'm a huge fan of employing spaced repitition and active recall and can not only provide tutoring, but also detailed and adaptive study plans. I'm excited for the opportunity to work with you through your coursework or exam prep!
A few things about me outside of academics: I was a cheerleader during my time at UW Madison, I love a good true crime podcast, and am a huge Star Wars nerd. I like to spend my free-time with friends, lifting weights, or completing another run through of Baldur's Gate.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a session! I look forward to meeting you!" less...
