"I have been teaching mathematics for almost twenty years at Burlington High School. I am responsible for teaching about hundred students from freshmen to seniors in my school. I have been teaching algebra, geometry, algebra two, pre-calculus and AP calculus competently to my students. All my students have demonstrated a high degree of success academically. My students have an AP Calculus average of about 4.7. I've twelve years of tutoring experience working with Kumon and Tutors-on-call.
I have a master's degree in mathematics and have been licensed since 2003 to teach mathematics in the United States of America. I am competent in using technology such as Chromebooks, Desmos Graphing Calculators and TI-Calculators, SmartBoard, IPad, among many other technology tools for improving student engagement and learning. Students who take my courses always have fun and at the same time experience higher order thinking and authentic application of whatever concept they are learning.
Also, I have expertly taught all levels of mathematics at Saint Michael's College to a group, largely, made up of immigrants and English Language Learners in the summer of 2009. I assumed complete responsibility for planning, teaching and assigning grades in calculus 1 and 2 and, also, in finite mathematics to up to thirty students as a graduate teaching assistant in the University of Vermont from August, 2001 to May, 2003. I did help sessions and Mathlab. in calculus 1 and 2, for students at the University of Vermont . I taught introductory statistics for one semester at the Community College of Vermont in spring of 2004. Additionally, I have successfully trained three University of Vermont student interns to become mathematics teachers at the secondary level. I also have one year of teaching experience in England.
I hope my application for a mathematics tutoring position in your reputable tutoring company will be given the desired consideration.
Thank you." less...
