"I have over 10 years of experience across a wide array of health care disciplines, finally settling on completing a doctorate in health science with a global health emphasis. I have expertise in infectious disease data and epidemiology, health care informatics, health care management, and even some non-health care related subjects, such as study skills (including how to perform research). I've spent some of my career as a medical writer, and I can help students improve their writing, especially scientific writing.
I am always eager to help students who are concerned about falling behind, or who have fallen behind. There is no shame in admitting the need for assistance. I empower my students to improve relationships with difficult professors, and to increase their self-confidence by helping them learn they can master the material.
When I teach students I love watching them get excited about the subjects I am teaching, and I especially enjoy when they understand complex concepts they did not previously understand. I enjoy watching my students teach each other, and I encourage them to fully participate in the course. I believe student motivation is the number one variable that promotes learning, but nutrition, sleep, and social networks also play a role. My teaching philosophy and style is unique because I try to reach every student that I work with, I believe that it is important to individualize the learning experience. I also understand that students may take other lessons from what I am sharing, and I try to incorporate those lessons into the learning experience. I feel students should have clear expectations and should drive the learning process, with the instructor as a guide.
I love forward to being your guide on your journey.
